THE GARDEN PARTY is a site for consciousness raising, desire-based dreaming, calls to action and invitations for collaboration amongst feminist culture makers.

If the systemically sexist/racist/patriarchal entertainment industry is the house, then the garden party is a pluralistic/feminist/anti-racist space that exists outside of the house.

The garden does not belong to the house. It’s probably a community garden that is near the house.

The garden is made of different stuff than the house; likewise, the garden partiers are made of different stuff than the people in the house.

But the garden partiers can choose to enter the house, steal some cookies from the house, occupy the house. Still, they know that it wasn’t built for them.

The garden party has the power to transform or topple the house.

The garden partiers could choose to burn down the house but the garden party would keep on going. And thrive.
